Japan's largest furniture and home-furnishing retail chain, Nitori, is making its muchanticipated debut in India. A prominent hoarding at one of Mumbai's premier malls, Runwal's R City Mall in Ghatkopar has unveiled a hoarding for Nitori's inaugural store, set to open on the mall's third floor. This landmark event signals Nitori's entry into India's burgeoning home market, which is projected to grow from $22.92 billion in 2024 to an impressive $38.38 billion by 2029, reflecting a robust CAGR of 10.64%, according to Mordor Intelligence.
The minimalist hoarding featuring the Nitori logo, along with the message "Coming Soon," indicates that fit-outs are already underway. Shoppers can expect a wide range of offerings as Nitori specialises in a comprehensive array of home products-from large furniture pieces like sofas and dining tables to essentials like curtains, carpets, bedding, and kitchenware. In Japan, the retailer also provides home renovation services, showcasing its versatility in the home-furnishing sector.
