David Harewood joins the cast as Ashfield is hit by gun crime
Shoot to kill

Set in Ashfield, a Nottinghamshire town divided by the legacy of the 1984 miners’ strike, the first season of Sherwood was a huge hit with viewers as it centred on two shocking murders and delved into issues such as organised crime and ‘spy cops’.

Now, the award-winning drama is back on BBC1 for a second season that focuses on the wave of gun crime that once earned Nottingham the unenviable nickname ‘Shottingham’.

DOMINO EFFECT

David Morrissey is among the original members of the starry cast who are reprising their roles, joined by a number of new faces including Oliver Huntingdon as drug dealer Ryan Bottomley.
