SNOW DOGS
SUNDAY, 9PM, BBC2 FACTUAL
Prepare to fall in love with seven gorgeous huskies – Epic, Exy, Hero, Lucky, Vicky, Wookie and pack leader Yukon – in Gordon Buchanan’s latest wintry exploit, Snow Dogs.
The BBC2 documentary follows the wildlife filmmaker on a challenging, week-long solo mission as he camps out in Canada’s frozen Yukon Territory while mastering a dog sled team through the snow-covered forests.
Here, in an exclusive interview, Gordon, 50, tells TV Times more…
What inspired this adventure?
My love of the natural world began as a 10-year-old when I read The Call of the Wild by Jack London [published in 1903], a book about gold rushers seeking fortune in Canada’s Yukon. My copy had lots of old pictures of a dog sled team, and that ignited something in me.
