MR LOVERMAN MON, 9PM & 9.30PM, BBC1 DRAMA
Caribbe with Dea co-star
Tahj Miles left fans of sun-soaked whodunnit Death in Paradise devastated when he decided to bow out as sparky criminal-turned-cop Marlon Pryce earlier this year.
But now, the actor is excited to be back on our screens in BBC1 drama Mr Loverman, playing 17-year-old Daniel, the studious grandson of central character Barrington ‘Barry’ Walker (portrayed by Lennie James).
As the eight-part adaptation of Bernardine Evaristo’s acclaimed 2013 novel continues this week, Daniel is at the heart of the action after he comes to stay with Antigua-born Londoner Barry, who discovers he has the ability to be a good mentor to the lad. However, will a shocking incident destroy their special bond?
Here, in an exclusive interview, Tahj, 23, tells TV Times why he’s relishing the role…
Daniel has his sights set on getting into the University of Oxford and becoming Britain’s first Black Prime Minister. What’s your take on him?
