ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL
THU, 9PM, CHANNEL 5 DRAMA
Caring Mrs Hall has enough on her plate keeping the vets of Skeldale House in check. But as the fifth series of Channel 5's hit period drama All Creatures Great and Small continues this week, she adds Air Raid Precautions warden to her list of duties, too!
As the selfless housekeeper, played by Anna Madeley, begins her new role, however, there are ructions as fussy chief ARP warden Mr Bosworth (Jeremy Swift) starts placing demands on her time, putting him at odds with Mrs Hall's grouchy employer, Siegfried Farnon (Samuel West).
Here, in an exclusive chat, Anna tells TV Times about the trouble ahead...
How does Mrs Hall feel about becoming an ARP warden?
Bosworth wants to ensure lights are turned off and curtains are closed [in the blackout] and Mrs Hall is looking forward to getting stuck into that. During World War One, she was in the Wrens [Women's Royal Naval Service], and she's perfect for this, because she knows the community.
Bosworth wasn't keen initially on recruiting her. What's your take on their dynamic?
