Global chip shortages aside, technology continues to evolve at a rapid rate in all fields – and home cinema and entertainment is set for some big leaps in 2023.

BNC Technology’s managing director Nick Caripis says that the home cinema industry has been investing heavily in producing showrooms at international standards to help showcase technology to consumers. “We’re seeing customers becoming more educated about what is available and what true home cinema is,” he says. “With lockdown and customers staying at home more, people are investing heavily in their homes and installing true home cinemas, rather than simply adding bigger screens or speakers to their rooms – they expect a true cinema performance and experience at home.”

GETTING META

HFX Systems’ director Eugene Oosthuizen says that consumers looking to 2023 and planning an audio-visual project at home should keep some new technology releases in mind and prepare for future integration. “We’re going to see more metaverse integration into home tech.
