Modern-day living is all about convenience, especially within the home. Why bother with cumbersome curtains and blinds in hard-to-reach places if you can automatically open and close them at the push of a button? M "Even to have them open or shut at set times in specific scenarios when using a smart home controller is an obvious benefit of automating your blinds and curtains," says Russel Baker of Blind Designs. "But there are other benefits such as being able to operate blinds on windows that are high up or otherwise inaccessible."
Wynand Louw of Blind Guys agrees, saying that ease of use makes automated curtains and blinds a popular design trend. "While there is a perception that automation makes them expensive, they have become increasingly affordable. In the next couple of years, they will become standard."
BENFITS OF AUTOMATION
Baker says automated blinds or curtains have longevity. "Ensuring a smooth operation without chains or cords will naturally increase their lifespan." If paired with a smart home control device, you can have them close at the appropriate times of the day to reduce your energy costs. An often overlooked benefit is pet and child safety, says Baker. "By eliminating the chain or cord, you remove a potential choking hazard."
Plamena Danieli of PS Studio adds: "Motorisation is the effortless choice for luxury in your home, providing durability, high performance, and convenience that is most suited to your lifestyle."
