WHAT HAPPENS WHEN you put a seasoned race car driver and a successful F&B entrepreneur behind the wheel of a EQC 400 by MercedesEQ and send them to a luxury stay in Ipoh with the support of Cycle & Carriage? An exceptional journey to remember, that’s what.
Daniel Woodroof and Hazwan Yazit, both A-List alumni of Augustman, were the lucky duo picked for this adventure, which was made possible through Cycle & Carriage. The trip aimed to introduce the participants to the future of sustainable travel, and it made for a good opportunity for the A-Listers to be a part of Malaysia’s first electric vehicle cruise as well.
Woodroof’s extensive experience with cars – thanks to his racing experience – put him in the perfect place to evaluate the EQC 400. He was quick to praise the EQC 400’s luxurious interior, commanding touchscreen console, and the car’s top-end performance. Comparing the drive with his racing days, Daniel recounted the responsiveness of the car during the trip.
“I stealthily managed to sneak away from the convoy to test its cornering capabilities and was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy and stiffness of the handling, yet the softness of the suspension when going over Malaysian roads,” Woodroof said. “The instant torque delivery can’t be underestimated – it’s sharp, responsive, and very, very fast. I’d give it five stars, but I think five lightning bolts is more appropriate.”
