WHEN DEVIALET LAUNCHED its Gemini true wireless earbuds in 2021, they were pretty good, delivering an impressive performance but falling short of the top dog in the game (punching above its price category): Apple’s AirPods Pro.
Using a luxury analogy, Devialet is like the Ferrari of audio products and Apple is like Porsche; though entirely different tiers, both are competitive when it comes to certain specifications. That said, this analogy does not account for the fact that when Apple released the original AirPods, the Cupertino company created a whole new genre of earbuds; at the time, it was unclear how much more people were willing to pay for earphones. With the launch of Gemini II, it’s clear that the French audio device maker has once again set Apple’s second-generation AirPods Pro in its sights.
