A FORMER Scotland player was left with a suspected broken nose after a testimonial fundraising event descended into violence.

Kevin McNaughton - who starred for Aberdeen, Cardiff, Inverness Caley Thistle and Bolton, and is now manager of junior side Dundee North End - had his nose bent out of shape after coming to blows with William Buchanan during the dispute between rival teams.

Dundee Sheriff Court was told that the semi-professional clubs had teamed up to raise funds for a player but the event ended with McNaughton, 42, in hospital and a pool of blood on the floor of a bar.
