Ukraine kills Russian nuke general with Scooter blast

RUSSIA has vowed revenge after Ukrainian agents killed the Kremlin's biological, nuclear and chemical warfare chief with a bomb in an electric scooter.

The bomb was detonated remotely, killing Lt Gen Igor Kirillov, 54, as he left his Moscow apartment for his office early yesterday. His assistant Ilya Polikarpov, 33, also died.

As a manhunt was launched to find the assassins, images from the scene showed shattered windows and scorched brickwork.

Russia's top state investigative agency said it was treating Kirillov's death as terrorism.
