SHARK trackers are jetting to Britain amid fears we could soon see Jaws attacks.
A crack team of marine boffins and boffinesses is probing an explosion of the great white population off the US east coast.
It is due to growing numbers of grey seals, which the sea predators feast on. The UK is home to 95% of Europe's grey seal population.
US researchers from shark tracking company Ocearch now plan to visit Britain to see if the ocean predators have made the trip across the Atlantic in search of grub.
The closest great white ever officially recorded to British waters was a female discovered off the coast of La Rochelle in France in 1977 - 168 miles from Land's End.
But Jaws expert Richard Peirce, who spends his time probing UK&nbsp;sightings as former chairman of the Shark Conservation Society and Shark Trust, said he is "absolutely convinced that while we don't have a resident population here, every once in a while we have an occasional vagrant visitor rocking up".
Marine biologists suspect warming oceans will drive many species to seek new territories across the globe.
