WAITROSE shoppers are bummed out over its shrinking bog rolls.Bosses have been slammed after the number of tissues on its own-brand loo paper was slashed from 240 to 190 in the latest "shrinkflation" row.The posh store declared it was cutting the price from £5 to £4 for the same nine rolls.But the supermarket was swamped with one-star online reviews after customer David Winskill weighed the new and old packages and found each roll was 40% lighter.He said: "I had just got home and taken them out of the packet to put away and it just felt less substantial." David, 68, who has been shopping at Waitrose in Crouch End, north London, since it opened in 2009, added: "We're paying less to get less, and being told it is a better product." Someone said on X: "The great @Waitrose toilet roll swindle." Waitrose said: "We recently embossed our rolls to give an improved texture, while also cutting the price to reflect the reduction in sheet count."We sincerely apologise if our partner's approach didn't reflect this standard and we're certain it wasn't their intention."
