EYES ON THE TIGER

LUKE DONALD has welcomed the prospect of going head-to-head with Tiger Woods for the Ryder Cup after being reappointed as Europe's captain.

The 45-year-old Englishman becomes the first European this century to retain the job after guiding Europe to a resounding 16.511.5 win over the United States in Rome earlier this year.

The likelihood that will mean taking on a US side led by Woods (inset) at Bethpage Black in two years' time does not faze him one bit.

"Tiger has been mentioned as a possible candidate and we'll have to wait and see," said Donald.
