And she clearly found another gear down the home straight to fire a warning shot at her main rival for gold, Kenya's Mary Moraa.

"T've to go out and do what I know I can do, added Hodgkinson. "If I can commit to that, I think I'll get what I want."

Britain's other big track hope Josh Kerr is promising one of the "most vicious 1500m ever run" tomorrow.
