SICK PAY

THE BBC was told about Huw Edwards' arrest "on suspicion of serious offences" in November but continued to pay him for another five months.

This means the star - who was one of the Beeb's highest-paid presenters - continued to receive his £475,000 salary. He eventually quit in April.

A BBC spokesperson said: "At the time, no charges had been brought against Mr Edwards."
