EXPERTS reckon they have finally found proof that abandoned big cats roam Britain.
Documentary makers have discovered the "clearest ever" photo of one prowling through the UK countryside.
The picture of the pantherlike creature was discovered in files of a zoology organisation.
It shows a large muscular black cat lying in long grass in Smallthorne, Staffs.
The photo was accompanied by a note dated March 17 - but it is unclear which year.
The find features in Panthera Britannia Declassified, an award-winning documentary by Dragonfly Films, released on Amazon Prime.
Producer Tim Whittard said: "This astonishing lost photograph forms only a fraction of the collective evidence on display in the film."
In July, a man claimed to have spotted a big cat as large as a Labrador on a fishing trip.
Tim added: "The documentary is predominantly data driven. We used real science and real experts, and tried to be as objective and analytical as possible. Our research took thousands of hours."&nbsp;
