Brits go shaggy to save cash on fancy hairstyles

CASH-STRAPPED Brits are turning us into a nation of yetis because they can’t afford a haircut.

Two thirds are making fewer trips to the barber or salon as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite, research shows.

And when they do go, they ask for shaggier styles that will stand the test of time. One in five women have even got the scissors out to trim their hair at home.

Dan Lynes, head stylist for Tresemmé maker Unilever, which carried out the study, said: “People are coming to the salon less.
