I Don’t Know How To Lose.
Pc’ is a suitable acronym for her. ‘p’ower ‘c’ruising along a historic trail as an entertainer from india, what this workaholic actor, singer and tv star has achieved, makes a dizzying biopic already. Hello! Managed talk time with a lady who fights her own quiet battles against jet lag, cultural stereotype, and get a load of this... Does not believe in luck!
At 33, Priyanka Chopra, a veteran of 50 films, has had the most hyperbolic year imaginable. January saw her receive a ‘Favourite Actress in a TV series’ award from Vin Diesel at the People’s Choice Awards in LA. Mid-January, she won the ‘Best Supporting Actress’ award at the Filmfare awards, (becoming the first actress to win Filmfare awards in five different categories). In February, she was the face of glam India on the red carpet in a sheer Zuhair Murad white gown at the 88th Annual Academy Awards, and was later up onstage to give away the ‘Best Editing’ Oscar award with the handsome, Liev Schreiber. In April, she featured on one of six TIME magazine covers as one among the World’s 100 Most Influential People in the World issue, in America and Asia. The same month, she was at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Delhi, receiving the Padma Shri from the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee. In May, she was invited to the Correspondents Dinner at the White House, where she met America’s First Couple, and pledged to work with Michelle on girl child empowerment. In June, she travelled through Mumbai to London, New York, Paris and Madrid in the span of a week, to promote Quantico. The blockbuster show travelled to 216 territories and got dubbed in 56 languages in less than a year. More recently, she was signed up to play a negative character in Baywatch, without any audition... just a “two hour long creative conversation on Skype” with director Seth Gordon, who originally had a man in mind for the part. The next thing, her agent called to tell her she had the part!
