Wild West Online Preview
Seeing as Rockstar won’t come to its senses and launch any Red Dead Redemption titles on the PC, computer players have very few options to experience the wild, wild west in all its immersive 3D glory. Besides Ubisoft’s hit and-miss Call of Juarez franchise -- whose sole good title was Bound In Blood -- the only other notable old west game was 2005’s fantastic Gun, which has aged quite a bit by now.
Sonic Forces Preview
The release of Sonic Mania heralded a change in the timeline of Sonic titles. The gaming world was treated to a sublime slice of Sonic nostalgia that managed to capitalise on the series’ greatest strengths, whilst modernising it enough to bring it in line with current platformers. With this in mind, it’s fair to say that Sonic Forces has a some big shoes to fill, and unfortunately, Sonic’s wee feet are several sizes too small for those big white and red trainers.
watch dogs 2
when i found out that ubisoft were bringing out another watch_ dogs i just had to grab it before anyone else did. i have played the first one and completed it about five times, now. i am a big fan of ubisoft mainly because of the assassin’s creed games but i was really excited to be reviewing watch_dogs 2, especially because there is no new assassin’s creed this year.

PES 2018 Gamescom Preview
Let me first begin by saying, that I am awful at football games. And while I have played FIFA and previous PES titles around friends and at parties, I’ve never really been interested in them. So, when I arrived at the Konami booth to see the first title of the day, Pro Evolution Soccer 2018, let’s say I wasn’t the most enthusiastic. This wasn’t because it was Konami, the company everyone loves to hate, but actually due to my knowledge of the last couple of PES titles being terribly underwhelming. Regardless, I was open-minded, and I was interested to see just what has improved.
Hyper Universe Preview
The 2D MOBA is a genre that hasn’t been explored too much outside of the excellent Awesomenauts and Nexon’s newest title, Hyper Universe, looks to jump feet first into the fray. Bringing an esoteric selection of characters from a variety of disparate areas of pop culture, from Gundam-esque robots to soldiers and demons it looks to bring a unique spin to the popular genre.

Mafia III
I love a good story. I like epics of revenge, murder, loss and despair; I like to immerse myself in rags-to-riches tales where the downtrodden rise from the ashes. And here is where we hit a slight snag for you see, as much as I like a thrilling narrative, I don’t enjoy having to go through a long and tedious slog to see how it all pans out. This is Mafia III’s problem; it’s a riveting account of how one man pulled the dying dregs of several gangs together to take out the top dog but the only way to find out how it happens is by crouching, whistling, stabbing, repeat or alternatively, shoot, get shot, repeat.
Dishonored 2
The original Dishonored released back in 2012 was amongst the most impressive and excellently well crafted titles of that year. It also became one of my favorite titles since BioShock. It didn’t follow conventional design, it didn’t force you to follow a needless linear path, neither did it instruct you to kill or destroy anyone and anything in your path. No, Dishonored let you decide the fate of others, and in a video game, that offers you massive amounts of power.
Titanfall 2
Awesome missions, a solid dependable multiplayer, no cut content and no botched launch; this is more than what we can expect from some big companies at the moment. With some games in the past having a horrific launch, a terrible multiplayer or issues a-plenty with their campaign. The recently released Battlefield 1 is plagued with two major issues; limited weapon choice in multiplayer and a very short campaign, it took my five hours to complete the whole thing. Honestly? That is far too short. Far, far too short.
