Over the last few years, smog India, as winter approaches. It is known as the North Indian Haze.
The Great North Indian Haze

The reason for the North Indian Haze is entirely natural because of a weather system called Western Disturbance.

Western Disturbance affecting the hills of Jammu and Kashmir may sometimes lead to a sudden reversal of winds from the usual dry and cool north-westerly to humid easterlies or south-easterlies, which could cause widespread fog in the plains of North India. Moreover, calm winds (having speed below 5 kmph) do not allow fog to lift.
