Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies
NEWAvailable: Good Fri 7 Apr Genre: Musical comedy Season: 1 Eps: 10 (first two eps from Good Friday 7 April, then weekly)
Grease is the word on Paramount+ this week in a hotly-anticipated all-singing, all-dancing prequel to iconic 1978 musical movie Grease.
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies is set in 1954, four years before the events of the film, in which John Travolta’s super- cool Danny Zuko embarked on a romance with Olivia Newton-John’s shy Australian Sandy Olsson.
The 10-part series follows four fed-up misfits – Jane (Marisa Davila), Olivia (Cheyenne Isabel Wells), Cynthia (Ari Notartomaso) and Nancy (Tricia Fukuhara) – whose outlandish behaviour sparks a moral panic at Rydell High, where they form satin-jacketed girl gang the Pink Ladies.
