This Is England’s Chanel Cresswell and Game of Thrones star Natalia Tena play the footballers’ wives at the centre of the case, with Quiz actor Michael Sheen taking on the role of Rooney’s barrister David Sherborne.

The dispute between the two women began in 2019 when Rooney caused an internet sensation by accusing someone with access to Vardy’s Instagram account of selling stories about her to the tabloids.
