This week, Smith – nicknamed Bully Boy – returns to London’s Alexandra Palace to defend his title in front of a fancy-dress-bedecked crowd against a field that includes former winners Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen.

 

We caught up with Smith, 33, to hear more about his chances…

What is your form like going in to Ally Pally?

It’s not as good as I want it to be, to be honest. I’ve been practising really well for a while but not producing my best form in the big TV events. But I’ve made the last two World Championship finals, so it’s a great feeling going back there.
