GARLIC & BROWN SUGAR DRUMSTICKS
SERVES 4 TO 6 - 40 MIN
- 10 chicken drumsticks (about 2½ lb.total), patted dry
- 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. ketchup
- 2 tbsp. reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 3/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 scallions, thinly sliced
- 2 tsp. toasted sesame seeds
1. Preheat oven to 425°. Arrange chicken in a 13"-by-9" baking dish. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Spoon brown sugar mixture over drumsticks.
2. Bake chicken, basting with pan juices after 20 minutes, until chicken is cooked through and sauce is slightly thickened, 25 to 30 minutes.
3. Transfer chicken to a platter. Spoon any remaining pan juices over chicken. Sprinkle with scallions and sesame seeds. -LAURA REGE
