Corrie co-star on playing killer husband of his good pal Helen

HELEN Worth's screen husband shared memories of working with the Corrie star, after she announced she was leaving the soap.

Brian Capron, who played killer Richard Hillman, first met Worth, 73, when she was aged 19 at an ITV party.

And he said the pair's chemistry helped make his storylines work.

The 77-year-old explained: "Because we knew each other, that really helped.

"And I think everybody thought I might be a dodgy character so we worked very hard on making that a genuinely warm, loving relationship.

"In his mad head he was doing everything for his family, which gave a great springboard for the dark side."
