You know you got it right when the street rod you built-in 1982 is still going strong almost 40 years later. Yes, it has had the usual maintenance items (universals, brakes, tyres, three exhausts systems and a transmission rebuild) but Greg says the ’34 Ford coupe has been a great car to drive for all of that time.
It seems ridiculous now to learn that Greg only paid $1800.00 for the bare bodyshell back in 1979 and the project was brought to fruition three years later. Like all project there was plenty of time spent chasing parts and meeting great people with similar interests along the way.
Starting out with an Aussie body for this coupe project meant its wooden frame needed to be replaced with steeled framework to ensure it could stand up to many more years of use ass a much more powerful street rod. In the process Honda door latches were fitted along with power windows from an XA Falcon.
