Historic, Classic Or Trashic?

Rosie, my well-built, reliable and practical MGB GT, has been a cherished family member since leaving Abingdon 40 years ago.

Historic, Classic Or Trashic?

As such she has received some recognition/birthday treat each anniversary to maintain mechanical reliability or generate a little more muscle and vitality, thus enhancing on-road performance to keep pace with the increasing velocity of everyday motoring. Also to repair the ravages of aging, plus a little added cosmetic surgery while still retaining the patina of age and the definitive timeline, grace and ‘at-a-glance’ recognition of her marque.

Well-used throughout the year and a regular attendee at classic vehicle venues throughout the season but not a concours trailer queen, Rosie has frequently been appraised by self-appointed killjoy aficionados who, with sharp intakes of breath, tutt-tutting and head shaking say: ‘Not on, old boy. Not original, not a true aging dowager, merely a made-over flouncy tart. Not a classic by any means!’
