Handleless cabinetry in Light Grey and Graphite matt lacquer finish with floating breakfast bar design from the Nocturnal Collection – by Wrights Design House, Temple Cross, Lisburn 028 9263 9964 wrightsdesignhouse.com
We’ve always wanted to build and had been looking for a site for ten years when this great opportunity came up with views of the Mournes. A year into the build, we sold our house and moved onto the site, living in the garage for the last year before moving in when everything was complete,’ says Leesa.
Using local products throughout their build process, the couple were at the block-work stage when they started to focus their thoughts on the kitchen design. ‘We thought about the kitchen early on and chose Wrights Design House after a visit to the showroom and meeting kitchen designer, David Nelson. David was brilliant, he really knows his products and was very good recommending specific appliances to suit our open plan layout. Because we’d been planning to build for such a long time, I knew in my mind the contemporary look I wanted for the kitchen and David had a really good understanding of what we wanted to achieve. I wanted greys and also knew I wanted two under counter ovens that would be hidden from view by the island. A breakfast bar was another priority and it was David’s idea to use glass support for this, which gives it a floating effect.’
