Liam suspects that something is up with Steffy, so he confronts Finn. “Liam starts out not having a problem with the doctor,” says Scott Clifton (Liam). “He’s got an impeccable resumé so Liam feels fine about that until he starts to notice how much taking Kelly off her hands so she has time to heal is weighing on Steffy. It’s hard for her to not be with her daughter, and Liam is starting to detect that Steffy is in this fragile, tenuous state.”

BACK IN BUSINESS “The first thing I did was jump for joy!” reports Kate Linder (Esther, Y&R) of showing up for work after months of sheltering in place. “I couldn’t wait to bring Esther to life again. I’m so thrilled to be back and so proud of our show. Seeing the crew was very emotional. It was wonderful to see people, even from far away, and to know that they are well. My first instinct was to hug everyone, which of course we can’t do. Everyone has worked extremely hard to make sure we all stay safe.” While production was shut down, “I stayed in touch with Tracey Bregman [Lauren], Jess Walton [Jill] and Liz Hendrickson [Chloe],” and Linder was over the moon that her first scene was with Greg Rikaart (Kevin). “It felt great to be on set again and working with Greg was wonderful,” she enthuses. “It was the first time I had seen him in five months. We spent a lot of time running lines and catching up. I was so happy to see that he was well. Liz couldn’t be there physically, but I still felt her presence and look forward to the day that we are all together again.”

Steffy’s reliance on pain pills becomes more apparent when she once again runs out of them and begs Finn for a refill. To her dismay, he declines her request.

Young and restless

ROLL TAPE Abby remembers there are a few boxes of John’s personal belongings at Dina’s apartment in Paris. Traci makes a call and has the boxes shipped to Genoa City, hoping they contain the home movies John made years ago. When the boxes arrive, Traci discovers a film canister in one of them. Traci, Jack and Abby sit down with Dina to watch. It’s footage of young John and Dina coming home from the hospital with baby Jack. In the video, John talks about the importance of love and family. Later, Abby points out to her grandmother that the movie moved her to tears, but Dina quickly withdraws back into herself. Jack realizes that Dina may have wanted her children to see the film to hear John’s words of wisdom.

HARTLEY SPLIT GOES PUBLIC

On the new season of the Netflix series, SELLING SUNSET, Chrishell Stause’s (ex-Jordan, DAYS et al) divorce from Justin Hartley (ex-Adam, Y&R et al) plays out in real-time.

General hospital

ABSOLUTE POWER Lulu warns Ned that Cyrus is making a play to become a hospital board member. At the emergency ELQ shareholders’ meeting, Ned discloses that Maya, Skye and Lila Rae have all sold their shares. Valentin enters and reveals that he is the mystery purchaser of the shares, and also controls Nelle’s, Scout’s and Danny’s. Valentin votes against bailing out the hospital, and when it is her turn to vote, Brook Lynn is forced to confess that she gave her shares to Valentin. Lucy arrives to vote her one (tiebreaking) share and casts it with Valentin, who also becomes the new CEO. A livid Ned throws Brook Lynn out of the mansion; Olivia is aghast and gives Ned a piece of her mind, then sets Brook Lynn up with a room at the Metro Court. Valentin delights in telling Nina and Jax about his new title.

FAMILY BUSINESS Gabi pressures Jake to join her on a business trip to Kansas City. Jake refuses, but Gabi won’t take no for an answer. The two wind up in a kiss, then make love. Gwen walks in on them and freaks out, then attacks Gabi. Jake separates them, and later, he tells Gwen he thinks they should break up... Rafe arrives home to find Eduardo there. Eduardo claims he wants to take his family on a trip to Mexico, but when Rafe begs off, Eduardo tells him that if Rafe doesn’t leave town with him, they’ll both end up dead. Eduardo tells Rafe he got into trouble, and now his enemies are out to kill his family. They already tried to kill Dario. They have to get Gabi out of Salem now. They go to the mansion and tell Gabi what’s going on, but she refuses to leave.

Kate confronts Chad about kicking Lucas out of his room and letting Jake and Gwen move in. Chad explains how Gabi is trying to undermine him with Shin to get back into the company, but Gwen has agreed to spy for him.
