TUNISIA
Tunisia is a North African country that is known for its rich history, diverse culture, and Mediterranean coastline. Its capital, Tunis, boasts ancient ruins such as Carthage - a Phoenician city on Africa's north coast.
At its peak, it was the most powerful city of the region due to its proximity to trade routes and harbour on the Mediterranean. Now a residential suburb in Tunis, Carthage is a neighbourhood flooded with traces of ancient Punic, Roman, Vandal, Paleo-Christian, as well as Arab societies.
Tunisia is also home to the Amphitheatre of El Jem, one of the rarest monuments in Africa. The structure has no foundation and was built entirely of stone blocks. It's also the largest amphitheatre in North Africa, and is capable of holding 35 000 spectators. Modelled after the Colosseum of Rome, the Amphitheatre of El Jem is a symbol of the imperial Roman empire and was designed for contests, sports, as well as performances and exhibitions.
ARGENTINA
Those who enjoy exploring nature will find paradise in Argentina. One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, the Iguazu Falls sits on the border between Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. It is the largest waterfall system in the world, with roughly 275 vertical drops up to 80m high. Iguazu Falls is home to an abundance of wildlife including 450 bird species, 100 fish species as well as 80 mammal species.
