SYE FOR ME
The new process 231J is arguably the best overall transfer case installed in a Jeep from the factory. It’s not the strongest, nor does it have the most features, but if looked at as a whole, it’s a great package. They are readily available, in expensive, fit various applications, have a decent low range (2.72 to 1), easy to work on, large aftermarket parts support, quiet, smooth operation, moderately strong, and lighter than cast iron.
PITCHING GAMES - Popular camp activities
One of the most satisfying parts of trail riding is the time that comes after everyone is off the trail. A good meal, a campfire, at least one guy working on a repair, your favorite beverage, all are part of the evening activity. Add a little friendly competition, and the night is just beginning.

HISTORY RESTORED - Retired competition rig
Short history, In October 2016, I bought a retired comp rig at Trail Hero that belonged to Shon Wilson, I was just a trail guy who was ready to get behind the wheel of a very capable rig and really have fun on the trails. But after I started to learn the car I got a call from Lil’ Rich Klein and he wanted me to come out to Sand Hollow and teach me more about her. So I did and that’s when I decided to give W.E. Rock a try in the Sportsman A class. April 2018 saw my first competition at K2 in Mason, Texas. Little did I know that would be a life changing event and one that changed my whole perspective on rock crawling and myself.
THE BATTLEGROUNDS ARE DRAWN…
Each year new Travel Management proposals land on the desks of bureaucrats. These plans may be everything we’ve ever asked for, but in all likelihood will carry plans to shut down trails we are used to. It’s not the fault of the manager, they don’t know how we use the trails. A road may look impassable to them if they don’t share our enthusiasm and taste for adventure. We are fortunate to have volunteers working on our behalf to keep trails open, but can they win alone?

THE 2020 COMP SCENE
The Competition season is heating up. It all begins with KOH, King of the Hammers, and fans out from there. Another full year of great racing on rock crawling. We only feature rock sports in 4Low, because those are the only sports that require four wheel drive. There are others that it may be incidental too, like the Glickenhaus car at the Baja 1000, but for true four wheel drive competition, rock sports is where it’s at.

Does 'Ram Air' Work?
Popularized by Pontiac back in the 1960s, the term “Ram Air” (as used by its space cadets—aka advertising staff) for a sealed induction system that receives cooler outside ambient air instead of really hot underhood air is a misnomer—at least when applied to road vehicles traveling at legal highway speeds.
