96% of dentists will not take new adults on the NHS

VIRTUALLY no dentists in England are taking on any new NHS patients.

A Mirror investigation suggests 96% of practices are not accepting new adults on their books, despite a rule change wrongly indicating more were taking people on.

Our Reach data unit analysed more than 6,500 clinics on the NHS Find a Dentist website and found 4,800 or 73% are not accepting more older people.

And 10% of constituencies in England did not have an NHS dentist with spare adult places.
