The jockey had a miracle escape after the crash killed pilot Patrick Mackey on Newmarket racecourse.
Frankie, 52, said: "I'll fly in jumbo jets and I'll fly in helicopters, but light aircraft? Not a chance.
"I develop claustrophobia too. I used to laugh at my mum when I was a kid and she'd have to have the window open, or when she wouldn't go in a lift, but now it's happening to me." Frankie was set to travel to Goodwood in West Sussex in 2000 with Irish rider Ray Cochrane in the Piper Seneca.
