Caesar Rolls

Caesar Rolls We roast garlic in the skins to caramelize sugars and soften cloves for a creamy spread and bake the dough with romaine

1 head garlic

1 tsp. olive oil

2 (1 lb.) loaves frozen bread dough, at room temp.

8 Tbs. butter, at room temp.

1 tsp. garlic powder

2 cups sliced romaine lettuce

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Trim 1⁄2" from top of garlic; place on small sheet of foil. Drizzle with oil; wrap. Bake until very tender, 1 hr.; let cool.

  • Reduce oven temp. to 350°F. Coat 13"x9" baking pan with cooking spray. Divide dough into 18 pieces. On lightly floured surface, roll into balls. Transfer to baking pan. Melt 4 Tbs. butter; stir in garlic powder. Brush over dough. Tuck lettuce in between dough balls. Let rise in warm place until doubled in size, 1 hr.

  • Bake until golden and baked through, 40 min. Squeeze garlic into bowl; stir in remaining butter. Serve with rolls.

2 cups butter, at room temp.
