BRITS returning from France will avoid quarantine if they have had both vaccines, in the latest shake-up of the travel traffic lights system.

The country’s amber-plus status will be axed from 4am on Sunday, as seven other European nations go on the green list.

It comes as health chiefs launched an urgent bid to jab 16 and 17-year-olds.

Boris Johnson said: “I know holidays are important to people.” But with some countries also moving to the red list, including Mexico, the PM added: “We’ve got to balance that against the need to protect us against new variants.”

Under current amber-plus rules, travellers from France have to isolate even if fully vaccinated. Austria, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Romania and Norway also join Germany going green.
