Lenskart partners with Karan Johar, Peyush Bansal for new campaign
Lenskart has launched a new campaign featuring Bollywood celebrity Karan Johar and its CEO Peyush Bansal. The omnichannel eyewear business aims to promote its goods with humour. On the campaign, its co-founder and CEO Bansal said, "Great advertising is when it is genuine and authentic on all fronts - product, proposition, messaging and storytelling. This campaign checks all the boxes."
The television commercial's script was written by Tanmay Bhat, Devaiah Bopanna, Puneet Chadha, Vishal Dayama, and Deep Joshi. The series of television commercials are designed to tap into shared human experiences and challenge the idea that quality eyewear has to be expensive, according to the brand.
"Lenskart is truly disruptive and is offering consumers a oneof-a-kind experience," said Johar. "I am super thrilled to have come on board to be a part of a brand that is changing the eyewear industry globally."
Today, Lenskart counts over 10 million customers and has a presence in 235 Indian cities as well as in Singapore. The business runs over 1,000 stores and recently entered the US and Middle East markets.
Adidas loses Stripe trademark battle
Sportswear brand Adidas lost a trademark infringement lawsuit against American luxury fashion brand Thom Browne Inc. The German sportswear had claimed that Thom Browne's four stripes were too similar to its three stripes. Browne argued that his brand had a distinct number of stripes and consumers were unlikely to mix the two brands. Adidas had intended to seek more than Rs 63 crore in damages, but a New York jury decided in favour of Browne.
The three stripes are a common feature in Adidas designs while Browne's creations feature four horizontal, parallel stripes that round the sleeve of a garment.
