TWO HUNDRED YEARS is a long time. In that span of time, we've gone from a billion people to over eight billion now, fought multiple world wars that have changed the course of history, witnessed empires rise and fall, and gone from an agrarian society to one flirting with the fringes of space. We've also had front-row seats to the rise of Scotch whisky brand, The Macallan.

I doubt Alexander Reid envisioned how far his whisky would travel when he laid the first stone of his distillery along the banks of the River Spey in 1824. But, it certainly has, the gorgeous brown liquid occupying millions of shelves worldwide, and millions more being drunk every month. Dozens more litres will soon be enjoyed at the heart of Clarke Quay, Singapore's famed nightlife area. In celebration of The Macallan's 200th anniversary, the whisky maker built an immersive history experience pop-up that will last from 7 to 22 September.
