MD-MS thesis will no longer be sent out of state for inspection

The National Medical Council (NMC) has decided to stop sending medical postgraduate (MD, MS) thesis out of state for inspection. This decision has sparked outrage among some medical students and faculty, but NMC sources say it will reduce student harassment.

This is the latest in a series of recent changes to medical education rules. Previously, MD and MS students would prepare a thesis on a particular topic during their studies.

In their final year, the thesis would be sent for inspection to the university, college dean, PG director, and other states. A report was to be provided upon analysis of the thesis by authorities at each location.
