I'm no hero. I did what most people would do

A HERO teacher who disarmed a teenage girl after three people were stabbed at a school has said he just acted instinctively.

Darrel Campbell, 61, a former rugby player, wrestled the knife from the attacker on Wednesday morning.

But his brother Cefin, a member of the Welsh Parliament, said he "doesn't consider himself a hero in any way".

He said: "He told me he just did what most people would have done he acted instinctively. He saw the danger and took action. He had to deal with a very stressful, chaotic situation.

"He did what most people would do and tried to calm things and restrain people from making the situation worse.

"He's embarrassed by all the attention that he's had."
