A RETIRED US Army colonel is charged with revealing classified information to a woman he met on a dating site.
David Slater, 63, is accused of passing details about military targets and Russian capabilities to someone he believed was living in Ukraine.
Slater was employed until 2022 by United States Strategic Command, which oversees US nuclear missiles.
Prosecutors claim the person asked about US defence secrets.
One message said: "Dear, what is shown on the screens in the special room?? It is very interesting.
And after requesting information about a country: "You are my secret agent. With Love."&nbsp;Other messages are said to have Included: "My sweet Dave, thanks for the valuable information, and, "You are my secret informant love!" The case was investigated by the FBI and the US Air Force.
US Attorney Susan Lehr said: "Certain responsibilities are incumbent to individuals with access to top secret information.
"The allegations challenge whether Mr Slater betrayed those responsibilities. He is charged with one count of conspiracy and two of disclosing defence information. The maximum sentence is 10 years.
