Racing boss slams sport's self interest

RACING'S governance structure is "not fit for the 21st century" and the sport is "paralysed by self-interest", according to the head of racing's media rights arm.

In a hard-hitting speech, Racecourse Media Group chair Conor Grant issued a call to action to reverse racing's declining share of bookmaker revenue.

"British racing is at a critical inflection point," he told an audience stakeholders at the annual Gimcrack Dinner in York.
