The December issue of Kairos prepares the readers for a meaningful Christmas through inspiring articles and testimonies. The editorial reminds the readers of the beauty of observing lent during the season of Advent. The cover stories by Dr. Naisil Rajesh, Sasi Immanuel, and Jeevan John contain reflections on the true spirit of Christmas and provide suggestions to celebrate the Birth of Christ in the “silent night”. Sajan Thamanam reviews his conversation with Brother Mavaroos who emphasizes that Christmas is for the meek and humble, a time for us to be reborn in Jesus Christ. Anita Babu lists few stories and books which thematizes Christmas, and Amal Tom George quotes the self sacrifices made by Daya Bhai to be amidst the poor and the downtrodden, and how it has inspired his meaning of Christmas. Elseena Jospeh talks about the Jesus Youth Kerala Conference (JYKC), which every Jesus Youth anticipating for this Christmas. The testimonies of Amala V. S., Anju Joy, and Dileep K. Jose reveal how God intervenes and heals when His children struggle in various crises. Prof. Edward Edezhath recounts how St. Francis of Assisi became the Patron Saint of Jesus Youth movement. Sunny Kokkappillil includes interesting features in Varthavicharam and Tintu Shirley Joseph shares what she learnt from the National Leaders Training held in Goa the previous month. The issue also contains Crib of Love prepared by Jesus Youth All Kerala Intercession Ministry to assist the readers in preparing for Christmas, and special Christmas articles for younger readers.
Kairos Description:
Kairos is purely a youth initiative for the youth. It is being published from 1977 onwards. It is a group of young people from Calicut who initiated it. From 1998 onwards, it is being published under the sponsorship of Kerala Jesus Youth. Personal Experiences of Youth, Lifestyle Guides, Discussions, Opinions, Church News, Responses to Current Events, Jesus Youth News, Youth-centric Insights and much more – all this put together in a light and simple manner that can be instantly recognized as the ‘Kairos style’. It is the only youth and teenage communication in Malayalam with a focus on the Church. Kairos helps thousands of youth form relevant responses and lifestyles in today’s world based on the Church’s teachings through simple sharing of spiritual experiences by young people. Brings together young people endeavoring to live a life of faith in Jesus.
