Joe Gomboc's Chevy Pickup

A chance stint working at the 16th Street Rod Nationals in Geelong introduced Joe Gomboc to the hobby and resulted in his goal to one day build one of his own. He didn’t know anything about building hot rods, but that didn’t deter him from his new-found ambition. Seven and a half years later Joe’s project has become reality.

Helping to push the project along quickly was a complete rolling chassis from Lewis Chassis Works that features a Rod-Tech stainless steel independent front end with vented disc brakes and rack and pinion steering. A disc brake-equipped nine-inch Ford rear end is suspended on Rod-Tech coil-over shock absorbers and is located by a triangulated four-bar system. The finished vehicle rolls on 17 inch American Racing Streeters five-spoke wheels and Maxxis tires.
